4 Note Per String Scales
Playing a scale by diving it into 4 notes-per-string allows you to play a 3 Octave scale and cover the entire fretboard. Using the index/1st finger of the fretting hand to shift-slide between the first two notes on each string makes it possible to smoothly play the scale up and down the fretboard.
Since playing a 3 octave scale covers a lot of frets, you may not be able to play all the scales and modes, especially the ones with the root higher up the fretboard on the 6th string.
